wandering the UK

I've never fallen in love with a city like I did with Edinburgh. The people and romantic aesthetics just blew my mind!! Edinburgh is one of those places that feels like coming Home. A place I will always come back to....after my imaginary benefactor sends me some monies:)

As our trip abroad was approaching I wanted desperately to take gear that was small, and uncomplicated, but could still capture beauty with precision. So, I got my hands on the Fujifilm x-e2. Yay tiny cameras!!  I'll let the images speak for themselves, but for those of you who want technical details please feel free to ask me nerdy questions and I will happily answer in the nerdiest way possible.

(The majority of the images below are from the Fujifilm x-e2, minus a few taken with my big girl camera, the d800)

When I put the kids to bed it is all about quiet voices and soothing songs so they get to sleep quickly (not because I want to watch my show and have a cocktail...not at all...not one bit). But when he puts them to bed it's a full on comedy show filled with fart jokes, weird voices, and Tom Hanks style laughter. It's kind of the best.
No wonder they always want their Dad to tuck them in:) xoxo

the manes family //presidio, san francisco

Welcome to my first family session outside of Austin, TX!

We ended up at this giant grove of eucalyptus trees, in the Presidio area. It's where the artist Andy Goldsworthy created a permanent installation called the wood line (http://www.for-site.org/project/goldsworthy-in-the-presidio-wood-line/). You have to see it in person to grasp the scale of it! Anyways, the Manes were absolutely delightful and their son was wicked adorable. He kept making these squeals of delight that made me want to have another baby ( for like, one second...okay, maybe more than that).

Enjoy some highlights from our time together:)

Amy

Meeting Amy I instantly felt her creative energy and incredibly sweet spirit. Amy lives in Austin, TX and creates intricate and artful lingerie. If you are interested in sewing your own she generously shares tutorials and patterns on her website:

the Meza family | mayfield park, Austin TX

Oh how I love the Mezas. This is the second time I've done a family session with them and they are truly down to earth, awesome folks.  Also, these precious girls are so animated, and lovely, and the littlest one sounds like Minnie Mouse. Are you kidding me?! Gah, way too much cuteness.

Enjoy some highlights from our time together:)

The Vaclav Family | Cafe Medici

Oh my gosh, people. Photographing the Vaclav family was like walking into a vortex of love. Which is totally real, in case you are questioning this term. Alison and Michael have a kindness and spirit about them that just draws you in and makes you wish they would just adopt you already. They own Cafe Medici, a favorite local coffee house in Austin, TX. If you need to get caffeinated show them some love and hit up one of their three locations. Do it:)
